Interactive Dashboard | 2023
Client: Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services
Skills Used: RShiny, Data Visualization, HTML
The Problem
I was tasked with building an RShiny dashboard by the state of Missouri that allows users to interact with an underlying Missouri-based health outcome model. I was given the R code to the model as well as a wireframe of how the RShiny dashboard should look (shown below). I worked closely with the stakeholder in developing visualizations that conveyed the gap in the outcome of interest between the healthiest and least healthiest environments. Because the state of Missouri needed this dashboard quickly, this project was completed over a 3 day period.

Outcome Dashboard
The Solution
The RShiny Dashboard (shown in the video below) allows the user to interact with the underlying health outcome model by selecting an outcome of interest and a social group.
The dashboard then gives visualizations that show the low, average, and high of that outcome for each environment type (Physical Environment, Housing and Safety Environment, Social Environment, Health Care Environment, Economic Environment) in the first column and the values by members of the selected social group on the right column. Below are screenshots of the dashboard.
The line visualization was chosen because both the stakeholder and I agreed that it was the best way to show the gap between the low and high values.
The Feedback
“Great work, Delivered on time."
